Our Story

The Cocoabean Company began in 2005 with a simple idea: to make great chocolate, by hand, in a way that brought people together. See our story below, or head to our team page to discover the faces behind the Cocoabean and the people who make it all happen.

Where it all started

What started as a small, family-run chocolate business has grown over the years into something much more — a place where chocolate is still at the heart of everything we do, but where experiences, memories and moments matter just as much as what’s in the box.

From the very beginning, we believed chocolate should be about more than just buying a product. It should be something you take part in, something you share, something that creates lasting memories. That belief shaped the way The Cocoabean Company developed, leading to hands-on chocolate workshops, family days out, school visits and celebrations of all kinds, all centred around our visitor attraction.

a growing business

As we grew, so did our community. Families returned year after year, children who once visited on school trips came back with their own children, and what began as a chocolate factory gradually evolved into a much-loved destination.

Today, alongside our handmade chocolates produced on site for our wholesale and retail ranges, we’re proud to offer a welcoming café, creative workshops for all ages, and a flexible events space that hosts everything from birthday celebrations and corporate events, to unforgettable weddings.

quality, care & attention to detail

Despite the growth, some things have never changed. We are still family-run. Our chocolate is still made on site. Quality, care and attention to detail remain at the core of everything we do — whether we’re crafting chocolate for our shop and trade customers, running a workshop, or welcoming guests to one of life’s most important occasions.

an exciting future ahead

The Cocoabean Company is a place where people come to celebrate, to create, to learn and to connect. We’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come, and even more excited about what’s still to come — continuing to evolve while staying true to the values we started with all those years ago.
