Visitor Information

During school holidays we are open 9.30am – 5pm every day. Outwith school holidays we are typically open a Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
Opening days and times can vary however so please see below for the most up to date information.

We have a large capacity car park, with enough space to accommodate coaches, caravans and even HGV’s! There are disabled parking spaces, located outside our main entrance. Our car park also has EV charging facilities, provided and maintained by GRIDESERVE.

If you are visiting The Cocoabean, as well as our main offering, you’ll find a cafe, indoor & outdoor seating areas, toilets & baby changing facilities, free parking and gift shop.

We also have picnic tables located outside our front doors where dogs are more than welcome. Dogs are not permitted into the building or into the outdoor play area (with the exception of service dogs).

There are disabled parking spaces located directly outside our main entrance, providing easy access to the building. Our main building is all on one level, making it easily accessible for wheelchairs, mobility scooters and pushchairs. This includes access to our café, shop, toilets and workshop areas.

Our marquee/event space is also all on one level, allowing step-free access for guests attending weddings and events. 

Our outdoor play area is designed as a natural adventure space and is largely set on uneven ground with some steeper areas. The terrain is primarily wood-chipped, which can make access more challenging for wheelchairs/pushchairs or those with limited mobility.

FAQS

Is The Cocoabean dog friendly?

We have picnic tables located outside our front doors where dogs are more than welcome. Dogs are not permitted into the building or into the outdoor play area (with the exception of service dogs).

Can parents go in the soft play with little ones?

Yes, adults can accompany little ones into the soft play areas. Please be aware that the soft play is designed for little people so adults may find some areas a tight squeeze! We also have a dedicated under 4’s area.

I’ve booked a workshop, can I arrive before my workshop start time?

Yes! All workshop tickets include all day entry so you can arrive any time and make a day of it. Please check our current opening times before arrival.

What age group are the chocolate experiences suited for?

We offer a variety of chocolate workshops, to cater to all ages and abilities.We offer children only sessions, family sessions for the grown ups to get involved too and we also offer adult-only workshops. As a guide our standard chocolate workshop is suitable from the age of 3 however every child is unique so we recommend reading through the workshop options to find which is most suitable for your group. For younger children, or anyone who requires extra assistance we offer an Additional Support version of the workshop where an adult can enter the workshop free of charge in a supporting role, view all of our chocolate workshops here.

Do you charge for adults?

Standard entry for adults is free and includes access to the cafe, all our play areas and the shop. Adults only need to pay when they want to take part in a chocolate workshop or special event.

Can you cater for allergies in your workshops?

We can substitute the chocolate used in our workshop for a vegan friendly alternative that is dairy free, gluten-free and soya-free. You will be given the option for this substitution when you book your tickets online. We also can supply gluten free, vegetarian, vegan or halal sweets/ingredients to be used in the workshop upon request.

Can we visit just to use the shop or cafe facilities?

Absolutely! Adults are free of charge and any children in the group will be subject to our standard entry charges that include access to the play areas.
