children only chocolate workshop

This session is designed especially for children to take part independently. 

In this children-only session, grown-ups watch the chocolatey fun from the viewing windows. As a guide, we suggest this session is suitable for children aged 3 and over as adults are not permitted to enter the workshop to assist. Every child is different however so it is only a recommendation and younger children are more than welcome.

Adults and children make chocolate together as a group in this shared experience.

Who says children get to have all the fun? The family session is the same as our core workshop but aimed at groups where the children and grown-ups want to make chocolate together. If you have any adults in your group that don’t want to make chocolate, they can watch the chocolate-making fun from the viewing windows.

Additional support chocolate workshop

Created for anyone who may need extra assistance.

This session allows each participant to bring one supporting adult free of charge into the workshop. The supporting adult is there to help but does not make chocolate themselves. Any other adults in your group not entering the workshop to assist, can watch the chocolate fun from the viewing windows. Suitable for all ages and abilities, and wheelchair accessible.

Chocolate isn’t just for kids! Indulge in a creative and hands on experience, with adult only participants. An adults workshop typically includes crafting your own artisan chocolates to take home. Perfect for a special celebration, or just because!

beanie tots

Available during term time only. This session includes making one chocolatey item and an element of chocolate play. It’s a playful and engaging experience perfectly suited to tiny hands and curious minds. A grown up must accompany their little chocolatiers into the workshop to assist.

We like to add an extra touch of magic throughout the year to give visitors a chance to enjoy something a little different. We have Egg Making at Easter, Advent Calendar Workshops in November or join us at Halloween or Christmas where our classic workshop gets a little seasonal make-over!

FAQS

Can I accompany my child into the workshop?

Our standard chocolate workshop is available in three different formats; Children Only, Family and Additional Support. If you want to accompany a child into the workshop, you must book either a Family Workshop where adults pay to make chocolate too or an Additional Support Workshop where an assisting adult can enter free of charge but does not make anything themselves.

Do I need to purchase separate tickets for play areas?

Access to the indoor and outdoor play areas is included with every workshop ticket. The play areas are open all day* so you can arrive anytime regardless of your workshop start time and make the most of your day at The Cocoabean!

*Outdoor play is closed in adverse weather for safety reasons, and is closed over the winter months (Nov – March).

Can we watch the workshops?

Yes! You can watch all the chocolatey fun from the viewing windows.

Can you cater to dietary requirements?

We can substitute the chocolate used in our workshop for a vegan friendly alternative that is dairy free, gluten-free and soya-free. We also can also provide halal sweets.

What age is the workshop suitable for?

Our standard workshop we advise (as a guide) is suitable for age 3 and above however every child is different and we’ve had lots of younger children take part. Please be sure to read through the different workshop formats and book the correct workshop for your group. 

We also have a our Beanie Tots session, which is aimed at toddlers and available during term time only.
